for operating and servicing your MITCHELL 35mm S35R motion picture camera.
"S35R" means "Silent 35mm Reflex Camera."
It's often called "Mitchell Reflex," or "R35."
The Mitchell S35R camera is a "next generation" Mitchell, successor to the Mitchell "Mark II," both shrewdly
engineered to compete effectively with the Arriflex.
The Mitchell S35R is a multi-purpose camera, designed for MOS, high-speed, animation, and motion control.
With a blimp (soundproof cover) it can also shoot quietly enough for perfect dialogue scenes.
The S35R has a legendary pin-registered, high-quality
Mitchell movement, and a spinning mirror shutter.
It produces rock-steady, crystal-sharp images,
while giving a clear view of exactly what
is being photographed.
The S35R uses standard Mitchell magazines, or special
S35R ones. There are three magazine mounting positions.
The S35R used the newest '60s space-age manufacturing
and materials. I think it was truly
one of the best ever made. It is a slick little honey to shoot!
